What is Yoga Nidra???? It is a guided meditation, a therapeutic practice for deep relaxation while in Savasana
~ Yoga Nidra is an awake sleep-like state while the mind is kept quietly aware & alert
~ It involves the involution of the mind and senses,
~Pratyahara (the 5th Limb of Yoga) is withdrawel of the senses in which we create the conditions for the subconscious to assist us in healing and tapping into our inner wisdom and insight that is not readily accessible by the rational, conscious mind; in this way the practice leads us to the successive limbs of Dharana (concentration) and Dhyana (meditation)
~ The end state of true Yoga Nidra is psychic sleep or sleep in the state of inner awareness. Its on the borderline between sleep and wakefulness (the space that allows contact with the subconscious and unconscious mind where we have stored all our past memories)
We will embark on this powerful practice of Yoga Nidra. I will guide you beginning with the first few steps of preparing our body then moving onto connecting in with the subtle body and mind. It will begin with simple movement, continuing onto specific mudras which will help you to connect with your subtle body moving onto the guided practice of Yoga Nidra.
